About Midwest Refrigerated Services
What began as a modest operation storing dairy and frozen products quickly grew to 3 facilities — and in 1959, the second generation of Pokels got into the business. We soon grew to five facilities across the state of Wisconsin.
In 1989 to 2003, we grew into the 14th largest PRW in North America. With over 630,000 sq. feet of warehouse space, the firm serviced 70+ customers – and eventually needed truckload services to meet their growing demand at which time we formed Wisconsin Logistics – an in-house transportation service.
As our company continued to grow, so did our customers. To keep up with their changing needs, we added in-house expertise in food-grade industrial construction and began a new division which designs, builds and leases food grade distribution facilities.
Today, Midwest Refrigerated Services is a full-service 3PL company providing integrated frozen and refrigerated logistics services for the food industry. Based in Milwaukee, WI, we operate the largest fresh/frozen 48 state LTL consolidation pool with more than 80+ trucks, and offer multiple sites with freezer, cooler, and air-conditioned storage, distribution and cross-docking services.
We partner with many of the household names that you see on the dinner table every night — as well as the firms they partner with along the supply chain to bring their products from farm to table. We know that when you work with us, you’re depending on us to act as an extension of your team storing and delivering your products cold, clean, correct, and on time.
