PEPCON is hiring CDL B Local Ready Mix Concrete Drivers in Brookville, OH. The Ready Mix Driver will be responsible for operating and driving a truck equipped with a concrete mixer to deliver ready-mix concrete to customer sites. The driver will also be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of the concrete and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the truck.

Poeppelman Materials is a 5th generation, family-owned business where you are family.  We are a crushed limestone producer and ready-mix concrete supplier with the main office and quarry located in Bradford, Ohio. We specialize in providing building materials to the greater Darke County market, including Miami, Shelby, Auglaize, Mercer, Montgomery, Preble, and Randolph counties. PEPCON, our ready-mix division, is strategically located in Bradford, Versailles, Union City, and will soon be opening a location in Brookville, to provide our customers with just-in-time building materials.  Join our family-owned business where you truly matter and are not just a number!  

Compensation

• Weekly Pay:  $1,200 to $1,500 or more per week
  • Hourly Rate:  $22-25/hr
  • Straight time up to 40 hours and time and a half after 40 hours
  • Guaranteed 40 hour per week 
  • Paid via direct deposit bi-weekly

Home Time, Route, & Schedule

• Home Time: Home Daily
• Schedule:  1st shift, varying early morning start times, 10-12 hours shifts
• Route: Local, covering Bradford, OH 45308, Versailles, OH 45380, Union City, IN 47390, Brookville, OH 45309
• Day Shift, Mon-Fri with rotating half day Saturdays
• Level of Touch: Load and Unload

Equipment

• Late model, front-discharge, ready mix truck
• GPS Tracking and Navigation
• Automatic Transmission

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age preferred 
• Clean driving record
• Valid Class A or B License 
• Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
• Must be able to climb in and out of the truck when delivering concrete and lift extension chutes and other items weighing between 25 and 75 pounds, at least 30 % of the time
• Pre-trip inspections of ready-mix trucks pursuant to DOT regulations
• Safely loads and promptly delivers ready-mix concrete to job sites as dispatched while maintaining positive customer and public relations
• Performs related loading and unloading operations with ready-mix concrete delivery truck in an efficient safe manner
• Performs regular maintenance and cleaning inside of drum as required
• Rinse chutes and truck free of spilled concrete and returns truck to batch plant following EPA regulations
• Knowledge of the principles and procedures for mixing ready-mix concrete
• Ability to read and understand delivery tickets and follow instructions
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and inspections on the truck
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Previous experience in the construction industry is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Hiring Radius: Drivers must live within 25 miles of Brookville, OH
